Meta Ads MCP tools: the full list, counted 18 Aug 2026

Meta does not publish the list and the vendor guides reprint a launch announcement. So here it is, enumerated and dated.

An overhead plan of a typesetter's case of many compartments, only a small cluster of them filled in.
The short answer

I enumerated Meta's official ads connector on 18 August 2026 and counted 95 tools — not the 29 that nearly every published guide still quotes. 34 of them are catalog and product-feed tools, which is the single largest group and the one almost nobody writes about — the catalog half has its own walkthrough. The 29 figure is the April 2026 launch-day count. This page is the list, dated, so you can check it against your own connector rather than trusting anyone's summary.

Searching for documentation on this connector is frustrating in a specific way: Meta's own docs describe capability areas but do not enumerate the tools, and the vendor guides that fill the gap are mostly reprints of a launch announcement. So the number everyone repeats is four months stale, and the largest part of the surface goes unmentioned.

Here is the actual list. It is a snapshot, not a permanent truth — which is exactly why it carries a date.

worth knowing Catalog tools are 34 of the 95 — more than a third of the connector.

If you sell physical products, this is the part that matters most and the part with the least written about it: feed rules, upload sessions, product sets, event-source match rates, dynamic-ads health checks. Most guides stop at "it can pull your campaign metrics."

How to check this yourself

Do not trust this page either. Ask your own connector:

List every tool you have available from the Meta ads connector.
Group them by what they do and give me the total count.

If your number differs from mine, mine is probably older. That is the nature of a surface that is still shipping — and the reason a page like this is worth almost nothing without a date on it.

What the list does not tell you

  • Access is not uniform. What your account exposes depends on rollout and permissions. A tool existing in the manifest is not a promise it will work for you.
  • Meta does not document permissions, rate limits or rollout eligibility. I checked for each by name. Anything you read about those, here or elsewhere, is observation rather than documented policy.
  • Count is not capability. A bigger surface is not a better one. In practice a weekly routine touches maybe ten of these.
  • This will go stale. It already has a date on it for that reason. If you are reading this months later, re-run the check above.

Try this tonight Run the count on your own account and compare it to 95. The gap, in either direction, tells you something useful about where your account sits in the rollout.

Two things the list corrects

The stale tool count travels with two other errors worth naming. The first is that the connector cannot see your creatives — it can, and the tools that do it are in the list above. The second is that paused-on-create is a prompting convention — it is not; all three creation tools declare it. If you have not connected yet, start here.

Frequently asked questions

Why does everyone say 29 tools?

It was accurate on launch day in April 2026. It got quoted, then re-quoted, and the pages carrying it were never revised. It is a good tell for whether a page has been updated since it was written.

Will my account show all 95?

Not necessarily. Access rolls out account by account and some surfaces depend on permissions you may not hold. Run the check above rather than assuming either way.

Is this the same as the Ads CLI?

No. The CLI is a separate path with different behaviour — notably around default status on created entities. This page is only about the MCP connector.

How often does this change?

Often enough that an undated tool count is worthless. Meta shipped a governance feature in July 2026 and the surface has grown substantially since launch.
